Review: Eyes of the Enemy
What would you do if your whole life had been a lie concocted by the man you knew as Father?
Beynn Firehand is 12 years old when the lies are exposed and his life changes forever.
His village, Veiled Gorge, is attacked by the sworn enemy; Beynn is sent to his Uncle to find help and his life is turned upside down and inside out!
As he’s on his way out of the place he has called home he stumbles across his best friend, Fritz, who offers to go with him. From the moment they leave his life is an adventure although not one of his choosing.
I traveled the paths with the two friends and was intrigued from the moment I opened the book until I closed it some hours later.
Eyes of the Enemy is a very good, quick read with everything I look for in a fiction or science fiction book: It has intrigue, interesting characters, a little drama with practical ways of solving the drama, hints at romance and a strong plot.
If you’re looking for a quick end of summer read to add to your book list because you’ve already finished all the others and found them lacking then Eyes of the Enemy would be an excellent choice.
