Review: How To Kill Your Senator
I don’t normally read dystopia since our world is crazy enough without adding to my imagination but the opportunity came to pre-read this one and I grabbed it.
I honestly don’t know how I feel about this little 3,000 word short story. It leaves me a little unsettled, which can be a good thing since it makes you think.
Really though, how do you kill your Senator? Your Congressman? All elected officials? How do you kill them without forfeiting your own life?
In this short narrative, Jackson Cartwright encounters a little imp-like creature named Jinn after he murders the entire Senate body within City-State’s Capitol.
Jinn tries to explain the source of Jackson’s ignorance regarding politics, but Jinn soon gets the upper hand.
How to Kill Your Senator is advertised as a dystopian novel but in my mind’s eye it is way too close to the reality of how government really is.
Do you really KNOW what you need to know about who you’re voting for? Do you do the research to show you who to actually vote for or do you simply toe the party line and vote the same way every time no matter what the candidates really stand for?
How To Kill Your Senator is now available for Kindle and Kindle App for 99 cents over at Amazon.com and is part of a larger collection of Dystopian stories set in a place called City-State.
Why did I give it five stars? How to Kill Your Senator made me think! A rare occurrence in a story of any sort since I usually read for the escapism factor.
