Press This
Press This is a bookmarklet: a little app that runs in your browser and lets you grab bits of the web.
Use Press This to clip text, images and videos from any web page. Then edit and add more straight from Press This before you save or publish it in a post on your site.
Drag-and-drop the following link to your bookmarks bar or right click it and add it to your favorites for a posting shortcut.
Press this is at the bottom of the tab and looks like a button. Click on it and drag it up to your bookmarks bar as stated above.
When you click Press This when on a site it will bring up a box which is much bigger than the Reblog box.
Why is it bigger? You have more options. You can write your thoughts on the page as you do with Reblog BUT you can add your tags and categories as you do with a regular post. This works whether it’s a WordPress site, a self hosted site or somewhere else altogether.
The only issue I have with the Press This button is that I can’t schedule when a post goes out; I can only save it as a draft or publish it immediately. I’m a big believer in scheduling my posts because I can make my posts when I have the time and schedule them for when I want them to go out thus not inundating your inboxes with many posts in a day and then having a draught where none go out for weeks.
I don’t Reblog while mobile since it’s from my phone and the buttons are too small to be useful but there is nothing wrong with Reblogging, I just prefer Press This because of the increased options I have there.
Oh, and WordPress? I do NOT like the new posting page or the new settings page! Please, give us the option of the old version of Settings and Posting/Pages! They don’t have as many options as I want and actually use!
