Blogger Recognition Award
How cool is this? I was nominated for my first Blogger award!
Takes a bow and blows kisses to ajoobacats, with many thanks. Hugs my friend.
This was a really great way to start my day! I logged in and her post was there about her receiving the award. Well, didn’t I get a surprise when I clicked and got the WP notification of a comment on my blog. It was ajoobacats notifying me that she had nominated me!
This award was started by Edge Of Night as a way of recognizing other bloggers whom the award nominator felt made the blogosphere a little better in some way.
The rules are:
Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
- Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
- Make sure to also attach the award itself!
- Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
- Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing! (It happens LOL).
How did my blog get started? I wanted some place to post my Southern Vampire Mysteries/True Blood stories where the ‘witch hunters’ (fanfiction dot net’s version of the Gestapo) couldn’t say boo about the content and where I would have more control over how and when posts happened. I also wanted an easier way to interact with my followers and commenters.
It grew from a site where I posted my stories to what it is now. I still have my stories here but I also have recipes, book reviews and product reviews. It’s my ‘safe’ place to vent and rant and have my happy feelings and let everyone know about it :D.
My piece of advice for other bloggers: It’s sometimes hard to come up with an idea or theme for a post. I had a hard time with that for the longest while. I solved it quite easily actually with blog challenges.
The two that finally got me started with regular blogging are Cee’s Share Your World Weekly Challenge and the Ultimate Blog Challenge, there’s a new UBC challenge starting October 1. They gave me a reason and some focus instead of wracking my brain trying to figure out what to say.
