Date A Girl Who Reads
I got this from Sara’s Attic Of Treasures.
I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember. From Laura Ingalls Wilder through L. M. Montgomery to Stephen King to Stacy McKitrick and many, MANY in between.
I think our love of books is one of the reasons my boyfriend and I get along so well. We can sit there, side by side, quietly reading and be perfectly comfortable together even though neither of us says a word.
I have found the literary types tend to have more thoughtful conversations because the books they read make them think of something other than the day’s news or what’s for dinner.
We can get our hackles up over an injustice in a book.
We can cry over the death of a beloved character.
We can sigh about the romantic dinner and marriage proposal.
The best part? Nobody has to be politically correct in a book. A book just is. There is no right or wrong (unless you count spelling and grammar), there is no name calling or putting down because everyone understands, to some degree, the need to do something you love.
